Heating & Hot Water

We offer a complete service, from fault finding and repairs, servicing, upgrading and new installations.

We only fit boilers from reputable manufacturers with a proven reliability record – ones that we have tried and tested over the years in our own homes.

We will always do our best to provide suitable options to match most householders’ budgets.

We can provide any of the boiler systems as briefly listed below and can modify any existing system as necessary. We are also additionally qualified to supply and fit unvented hot water mains pressure systems.

Combination Boilers

A combination boiler produces a near instantaneous supply of hot water, 24 hours a day. Unlike conventional heating and hot water systems, a combination system does not store hot water, but heats water as you use it. There is no cylinder, no tank and no connecting pipe work, which saves space and reduces hot water costs. An added benefit is that hot water is delivered at mains pressure, which means that you could get a powerful shower without the need for a separate pump.

Historically, this type of boiler is most suited to smaller properties and those with a reduced demand for hot water. However, large efficient models are now available giving greater hot water outputs.

Conventional Boilers (Heat Only)

Conventional boilers use a traditional heating and hot water system, which heats up a store of water before it is needed, via a hot water cylinder and ‘header’ tank or hot water cylinder and sealed system.

This type of system is most suited to larger premises and those with a high demand for hot water (larger family homes & those with multiple bathrooms).

These systems can be either sealed or open vented.

System Boilers

System boilers require a cylinder for storing hot water, however the major heating and hot water system components are built into the boiler itself, making it quicker and easier to install. In addition, there is no need for a tank in the loft, so it can be an option in a home with little or no loft space or where the space is earmarked for a conversion.

These boilers are also compatible with solar water heating systems, which deliver environmental benefits as well as lower energy bills.

Condensing Boilers (High Efficiency)

A condensing boiler or ‘energy-saving’ boiler is a high efficiency boiler. It extracts more heat from the flue gases than a standard boiler, so very little heat is wasted through the flue. This in-turn saves you money on your heating bills.

All of the Worcester Bosch & ATAG Boilers installed by Gas-Rite, are high efficiency condensing boilers.
